Frequently Asked Questions
Questions Before Booking
How big are the classes?
How long are the courses?
This depends on what course you choose to do. They are designed to run one or two days per week to fit around your life style.
I want to train as a qualified Beauty Therapist but can’t commit to the time, how can you help me?
You can build up your qualification in units, qualifying in single treatments as you go along. This way you will be able to complete one short course and then, when ready, complete another to build up your qualification. We are very happy to put an individual learning plan in place for you, so you can train in the most popular skills first and start earning money straight away.
Can you offer funding?
Unlike other loans, this does not depend on your household income or credit check and your repayments don’t start until you’ve finished your course and are earning a minimum of £25,000 per year.
At Omni we can also offer a monthly instalment option, meaning you can spread your course fees across the months leading up to your course or, for longer courses, across the length of time you’re training. For payment plans which continue during training, a 10% instalment fee will be applicable.
Are the courses insurable?
All VTCT Skills courses are fully insurable by all the leading Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing insurance companies. Student insurance is also available so you can start working on clients at home as you are learning.
Preparing for your Class
Do I have to buy a kit?
Only if it is listed on the course details. You will need a kit to practice. Home practice is essential to develop your skills. I’m sure you will have willing clients.
If I am travelling a long distance is there anywhere I can stay?
There are plenty of hotels and B&B’s that we have recommended for your convenience. Please see the Local Accommodation section here.
Getting to Walton on Thames
Walton is accessible by car and public transport. We are served by a number of local bus routes and by the train station, which is about a 30 minute walk from Omni.

Qualifications and Exams
Do I get a recognised Beauty or Hairdressing qualification?
Yes, you will receive a VTCT Skills Beauty Therapy / Hairdressing qualification, which is recognized nationally and internationally and well respected in the industry.
Who are VTCT Skills?
VTCT Skills are a Government approved Awarding Body offering National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) and other Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQ’s). VTCT Skills has been in existence for over forty years and has been at the forefront of developing the vocational system of qualifications in the United Kingdom.
Do I have to take an exam at the end of the course?
Not necessarily. For the bigger courses such as Level 2 & Level 3 Beauty Therapy, VTCT Skills qualifications are continually assessed. This means you will be assessed on your practical skills and your theory throughout the course.
For the shorter courses you will be required to come back to the academy to carry out your practical and theory assessments. Assignments and case studies are completed at home to build up your portfolio. Any additional assessment days are indicated in the ‘Course duration’ section of the course page by “+ 1 assessment day”.
With the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Skin Needling and Skin Peeling courses, throughout the training you will have assignments, case studies and home study that will need to be completed. Once this is all done, and all the training sessions have been completed you will be required to come back into the academy to demonstrate your abilities in front of an ITEC examiner at your End Point Assessment, alongside this you will also need to complete an online, multiple choice, theory exam.
What if I am not ready to take my assessments on the set date?
Don’t worry, we will give you an assessment date but if you are not ready at that time and need further practice, we will re-set your date and give you the guidance you need.
