We’ve created this blog for all beauty professionals as a first port of call for all things new and exciting within the industry, from treatments, product launches, industry events, all the way through to changes you need to be aware of whilst working in the industry (think GDPR and all that jazz)!
Not only are we hugely passionate about our amazing industry, we also have an amazing network of experienced beauty therapists working behind the scenes of the green door of Church Street, Walton. From working overseas on cruise ships, successful past salon owners, trainers of huge international brands, our team have done it all and lucky for you, we love to share!
Our new blog launch couldn’t have come at a more fitting time as last weekend saw the Beauty Industry taking centre stage at Olympia London! Beauty Olympia along with Professional Beauty are two of the must-attend events of our industry. Not only do big names have offers so tempting your bank account will cry a little, they often use the show as a platform to demonstrate new treatments and even exclusive hot launches!
I’m sure you are all well aware that our industry is ever changing! Attending exhibitions like Olympia are so important to keep current with the latest trends. With huge PR and advertising budgets, brands really love to shout about their latest must have products and treatments meaning clients are more aware than ever with what’s available on the market. If your services are looking a bit dated you may be losing out on business so be sure to block some time out of your diary to attend events like Olympia. All this talk of latest treatments gets us thinking of where we think the industry might be heading. For the last year at Omni we’ve seen such a huge increase in the amount of therapists wanting to train primarily in facial and skincare qualifications. We’ve even had very experienced therapists want to come and refresh all their prior knowledge because the skin industry really is booming! It all makes sense really because let’s face it, everyone is always going to want great skin so we think skin trends are here to stay if not grow!
If you’re on social media I’m sure you will have come across this new self-love trend #Skinpositivity where influencers, bloggers and even celebrities have started reaching out to their followers and swapped their highly filtered and best angled photos with completely real, make-up free images of their skin. 2017 was all about embracing stretch marks and it seems this year is all about embracing skin struggles. This is something I think we could delve into so deeply we may save this for its own dedicated blog another time so make sure you give us a follow on all social media platforms to be notified when it goes live.
